La Frite Mexicaine
Tucked away on 2 Rue St André in the charming town of Métabetchouan-Lac-à-la-Croix, La Frite Mexicaine is where bold Mexican flavors meet a laid-back, small-town vibe. The moment you roll up-yes, there’s even a drive-through if you're in a hurry-you’ll catch the aroma of sizzling spices and crispy delights drifting out to the street.
La Frite Mexicaine isn’t your average Mexican joint. It’s got that cozy, local feel with options to dine right in or grab your order to-go. And for those sunny Québec days? There’s outdoor seating that makes every bite better with a breeze. Whether you're cruising through town or sticking around for a casual meal, this spot welcomes everyone from taco enthusiasts to poutine lovers looking for a twist.
Inside, the menu keeps things simple but satisfying. Expect small plates packed with flavor-perfect for snacking or mixing and matching. The food comes out fast, but never feels rushed. Think crispy fries with a spicy Mexican kick, or comforting bites that balance local favorites with south-of-the-border flair. There’s also coffee on hand to perk you up, whether it’s morning or just one of those afternoons where caffeine and crunchy tacos make everything better.
Don’t expect delivery service here-it’s part of the charm. You’ve got to show up to soak in the atmosphere or hit the drive-through for your cravings on-the-go. But once you've tasted what La Frite Mexicaine is serving, you'll see why folks are more than willing to swing by. It’s the kind of place you mention to your friends not just for the food, but for the feeling it gives you-relaxed, satisfied, and just a little bit spicy.

Perfect place for a quick meal !
Very popular, nice play ground for the kids and the food was okay
I love the steamed hotdogs there! Also try the mexican fries, very tasty!
Fun atmosphere and fair, if unexciting, food.
We loved our experience!
Amazing mexican food with fast service. Dont get spooked in the toilets.
Awesome place right in my taste be spicy enough but you could always ask for medium or not spicy at all
Did not take care and service was weird. Cool set up though. My girlfriend and I were going through Quebec and had just stopped for a day of swimming at a nearby lake. We wanted some Mexican food since we had passed the restaurant on the way to the beach. Of course we were in deep Quebec so we didn't expect anyone to speak English but still the service was borderline rude. Can't really review the glfood though since we didn't eat any. Oh well!
